We were taught for many years that if we didn't have at least 45?60 minutes to dedicate to working out, then it was basically a waste of time. Much research has been done around this topic, and the conclusion is that everything that calls for your body to be in motion counts. We were literally designed to move on our two legs. Our entire muscular system is based on this, contrary to popular belief that we were designed to sit on our buttocks. There is even evidence building that evolutionarily speaking, many of our physical issues have arisen due to the fact that we are absolutely not designed for sitting, especially for 8?12 hours at a time.

I know as well as you do that this time of year is especially challenging when it comes to staying committed to our fitness routines. Excuses are very easy to come up with during ordinary times, but from November through January they are even more justifiable. It is true that there are many more things to occupy our time, like spending time with close friends and family that we rarely see, shopping, decorating, baking, celebrating, traveling, wrapping, getting caught in endless traffic jams, being invited to countless gatherings and feeling obligated to attend them all ... and on and on it goes. Yes, this is a joyous time of year, and though there are tremendous temptations and a multitude of distractions, we can manage to maintain some semblance of order in our fitness program. How? By intending it and choosing it.

That is what is slowly happening to those who insist on dieting. We have been conditioned and trained to think if we deprive ourselves of all fat, all sugar, all flour products, almost all carbohydrates, we will turn into slim, trim, healthy people. The fact is that diets are killing us. Statistics clearly show us that each time we "diet," we lose weight very quickly, only to regain all and more back. If you are anything like I was, I tried every single fad diet that came along, convinced each time that this one was going to be the one that would finally work ... this time I would lose the weight and be able to keep it off. The truth was, however, that I would be unable to live with that diet long-term, and even when I tried to be careful, when I went off that particular diet, I would immediately begin to regain weight. After nearly 20 years of yo-yoing, I had to ask myself, "why was this happening?"

It never ceases to amaze me how I am forever peeling the onion ... layer after layer ... subject by subject ... over and over ... on and on. I have been "working on myself" diligently for the past 20 plus years, and still there are major "Ahas!" Recently, I was attending an Abraham?Hicks workshop here in Asheville, NC. We are very fortunate that they grace us with their presence
twice a year for 3 days at a time. I thought long and hard before their arrival, trying to formulate my question. I thought it revolved around self-worth and self-anger, but I couldn't quite bring it together. As Abraham addressed the group, I began to realize that I was off-base. That, in fact, it was more of an issue of letting go. Letting go required trust. The more I listened to their dialog concerning a gentlemen who was dealing with having the world by the tail and yet recently being diagnosed with cancer, the more it became clear that I, too, had trust issues. Abraham suggested that he look deeper for the cause of the need he had to be in control, and as he explored that, I realized he was hitting me right where I live. It is never easy to admit you have fear, but fear is what lies under almost everything we cover up with other labels. I am notorious for covering my
fear with anger.

When we focus on anything and keep our attention on it, the Law of Attraction must bring it into our reality. That is why all a belief is, is a thought that you keep thinking long enough for it to become a truth. A manifestation that you then can look at and say, "see, I told you it would happen!"
